Preventative treatment

Preventative pest treatment for East Valley homes and businesses.

The most effective pest control does not react — it prevents. Firehouse Pest Control's preventative treatment plans keep scorpions, cockroaches, ants, rodents, and other Arizona pests out of your home or business before they establish a foothold. Serving Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, and the greater Phoenix East Valley.

Why prevention beats reaction

By the time you see pests inside, the outside population is already large.

A proactive exterior barrier treatment creates a treated zone around your foundation, eaves, weep screeds, and entry points that stops pests before they breach the interior.

Trigger

Reactive

Treat after pests are visible indoors

Preventative

Treat exterior to stop entry

Visits

Reactive

Multiple visits to resolve one infestation

Preventative

Consistent quarterly or monthly service

Cost

Reactive

Higher per-visit cost

Preventative

Lower cost-per-visit on a plan

Disruption

Reactive

Disruption to household

Preventative

Monitoring

What is included

Every preventative treatment visit covers six things.

Exterior perimeter inspection

The technician walks the full exterior of your property looking for new pest activity, entry points, and harborage conditions since the last visit.

Foundation perimeter treatment

Residual application to the base of the exterior walls, weep screeds, window frames, door frames, and garage seals.

Eaves and soffit treatment

Spider webs removed and residual applied to roof line and eave areas where spiders, wasps, and crickets harbor.

Entry point treatment

Targeted application to gaps, cracks, utility penetrations, and construction voids that pests use to reach the interior.

Spot treatments as needed

If activity is found in a specific area during the visit, targeted application is added at no extra charge as part of your plan.

Technician notes

A visit summary documenting what was found and what was treated. Interior treatment is included when requested or when interior activity is observed.

Plan frequency

Monthly or quarterly — matched to the property.

Monthly service

Continuous active barrier.

Best for: Homes with active scorpion pressure, properties near desert preserve areas, homes with prior infestations, or customers who want maximum peace of mind. Products are reapplied before residual from the prior visit breaks down. Recommended for Gilbert, Queen Creek, and San Tan Valley homes near desert edges.

Quarterly service

Year-round general protection.

Best for: Standard East Valley homes seeking protection against general pests — ants, cockroaches, spiders, and crickets — with no current acute infestation. Four visits per year timed to align with Arizona's seasonal pest cycles: late winter, pre-monsoon, post-monsoon, and late fall.

East Valley pest cycles

Why timing matters — Arizona pest activity follows local rules.

Arizona pest activity does not follow a predictable national calendar. Local conditions drive local behavior. Quarterly plan visits are timed around these cycles to apply treatment when it is most effective. Monthly plan customers maintain continuous coverage through every spike.

Winter (Nov-Feb)

Roof rats move indoors; German cockroaches peak in warm interior spaces; scorpions slow but remain active in sheltered zones.

Spring (Mar-May)

Ant colonies emerge and forage aggressively; termite swarmers appear after winter rain; scorpions become highly active.

Pre-monsoon (May-Jun)

Peak scorpion season; crickets begin breeding; cockroach populations build.

Monsoon (Jul-Sep)

All pest populations spike; rodents relocate after flooding; black widow spiders build webs in newly disturbed areas.

Post-monsoon (Sep-Oct)

Scorpions retreat to harborage; roof rat nesting season begins; ant mounds rebuild.

Callback policy

If pests return between visits, Firehouse returns.

All recurring plan customers receive callback visits if pest activity is observed between scheduled services. If pests return, Firehouse returns — at no additional charge — for plan customers.

Termite note

Preventative plans do not cover termites.

Preventative barrier plans protect against the most common surface-active pests. Subterranean termites require a separate, dedicated treatment because they operate underground and are not addressed by a perimeter spray. For full termite coverage, ask about adding a termite monitoring and treatment plan to your service.

Pet and family safety

Exterior-focused treatment, short re-entry windows.

All products used in preventative plans are EPA-registered and applied by licensed technicians. Exterior-focused treatment means re-entry wait times are short or non-existent for the interior of your home. Firehouse maintains notes on household pets and adjusts product selection and application areas when pet safety is a priority.

FAQ

Preventative plan questions Firehouse hears most.

Do I have to be home for exterior treatment?

No. Exterior-only visits can be completed without you present. Firehouse will notify you when service arrives and when it is complete. Interior treatment requires access.

What if it rains after my treatment?

Light rain after a fully dry treatment does not significantly reduce residual effectiveness. If a treatment is disrupted by heavy rain during application, Firehouse should return at no charge to complete the service.

Can I add interior treatment to my plan?

Yes. Interior treatment is available on request or is automatically included when interior activity is reported. The technician can explain re-entry timing and what areas are appropriate to treat.

What pests does the plan cover?

Standard preventative plans cover general pests — ants, cockroaches, spiders, crickets, earwigs, and scorpions. Termites, bed bugs, rodents, and mosquitoes are typically separate services or add-ons because each one needs its own approach.

Is there a contract?

Firehouse offers plan flexibility — the team can explain current plan terms when you call so the recurring schedule matches the property and the pest pressure.
